How it works
Your details are turned into the standard text format each type uses, then encoded as a QR code:
- Link / text: stored as-is.
- Wi-Fi:
WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;— special characters (\ ; , : ") are escaped automatically. Most phone cameras offer to join the network. - Email, phone, SMS:
mailto:,tel:andSMSTO:formats. - WhatsApp: a

The encoded text is shown under the preview so you can check it. SVG downloads scale to any size without blurring — best for print.
Example
A café can print a Wi-Fi QR code for network MyCafe-Guest with password coffee2026: the code contains WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyCafe-Guest;P:coffee2026;;, and customers scan it to connect without typing. Print it at least 2–3 cm wide and test it with a couple of phones.

Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: the information is stored in the pattern itself, not behind a redirect service. They work for as long as the link or details inside them are valid — but you can’t change where a printed code points.
Is any data sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated in your browser with the open-source “qrcode” library. Wi-Fi passwords and other details never leave your device.
What does error correction mean?
QR codes include redundant data so they still scan when partly damaged or covered. Level L recovers about 7% damage, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. Higher levels make the code denser. Use H if you plan to put a logo over the centre.
Why won’t my QR code scan?
Usually because of low contrast (dark code on a dark background, or inverted colours), a code printed too small, or no quiet zone (margin) around it. Keep the code dark on a light background with a margin of at least 4 modules.
