How it works
- Your main topic becomes the first hashtag (#BudgetMealPrep), followed by its individual words and your related keywords.
- Common modifiers are added to the main topic — tips, ideas, tutorial, for beginners, how to — to create longer, more specific tags.
- Everything is cleaned (no spaces or punctuation), de-duplicated and trimmed to your chosen count, never more than 60.
Example
Main topic “budget meal prep” with “cooking, student, lunch ideas” gives hashtags starting #BudgetMealPrep #MealPrep #BudgetMeal #Cooking #Student #LunchIdeas, followed by longer tags such as #BudgetMealPrepTips and #BudgetMealPrepForBeginners. The first three are the ones most likely to appear above your title.
Paste them at the end of your description — build one with the YouTube description generator.
Frequently asked questions
How many hashtags should I use on YouTube?
A few relevant ones are better than many. YouTube may show up to three hashtags above your title, and it ignores all hashtags on a video that has more than 60. This tool defaults to 15.
Does this show trending or high-volume hashtags?
No. It builds clean, relevant hashtags from your own keywords and common modifiers (tips, tutorial, for beginners…). It doesn’t access YouTube data, so check any hashtag by searching it on YouTube before relying on it.
Should hashtags be in CamelCase?
CamelCase (#BudgetMealPrep) is easier to read and better for screen readers. Hashtags aren’t case-sensitive for search, so it doesn’t change how they work.
